La teologia contemporanea, nel corso del XX secolo, ha tentato di entrare in dialogo con i saperi scientifici e si è lasciata provocare dagli incalzanti cambiamenti storici. Per farlo ha capovolto il proprio punto di partenza, riorientandosi in senso non più deduttivo bensì induttivo. In questa prospettiva, ha preso in esame i mutamenti culturali non meno che le sue classiche fonti documentarie – studiate però con adeguati metodi critici –, al fine di risultare interessante e, anzi, utile per il vissuto concreto dei credenti. Tale tentativo ha innescato anche un processo di decostruzione della cosiddetta theologia perennis e di ristrutturazione del teologare cristiano.

Getting Rid of Objectivism: The Deconstructionist Option of Contemporary Theology
Contemporary theology, during the twentieth century, has attempted to enter into dialogue with scientific knowledge and has allowed itself to be provoked by the pressing historical changes. To do so, it has reversed its starting point, reorienting itself in a sense that is no longer deductive but inductive. In this perspective, it has examined cultural changes no less than its classical documentary sources – studied, however, with adequate critical methods –, in order to be interesting and, indeed, useful for the concrete experience of believers. This attempt has also triggered a process of deconstruction of the so-called theologia perennis and restructuring of Christian way of doing theology.
