Questo contributo si concentra sulla nozione di non-dualità, che viene delineata attraverso un confronto tra il concetto di advaita utilizzato nello śivaismo tantrico del Kashmir, e quello di non-aliud utilizzato da Cusano. Il significato della nozione di non-dualità che emergerà da questo confronto è duplice: da un lato, esso consente di non negare la realtà e la consistenza ontologica del mondo; dall’altro, rende possibile una visione teistica in cui Dio e il cosmo non sono separati. Questa idea è articolata in un itinerario scandito da alcune intuizioni che svolgono un ruolo cruciale in entrambe le dottrine: quella del “tutto in tutto”, quella della natura contraente ed esplicativa di Dio, quella della forza creativa della mente, e infine l’esigenza di delineare una via di realizzazione che, mediante il superamento di ogni dualità, ricongiunga l’esistenza individuale a Dio.

On Non-Duality. God and the Cosmos between Cusanus and Kashmir Tantric Shaivism

This paper focuses on the notion of non-duality, which is outlined through a comparison between the concept of advaita used in Tantric Kashmir Shaivism, and that of non-aliud used by Nicholas of Cusa. The significance of the notion of non-duality that emerges from this comparison is twofold: on the one hand, it allows us not to deny the reality and ontological consistency of the world; on the other, it makes possible a theistic vision in which God and the cosmos are not separated. This idea is articulated in an itinerary marked by some insights that play a crucial role in both doctrines: that of the “all in all”, that of the contractive and explicative nature of God, that of the creative power of the mind, and finally the need to delineate a path of realization that, by overcoming all duality, reunites individual existence with God.
